Were such a large number of people calling it desperate when Sony reduced the price of the ps3 early in its life by removing features that people actually wanted?
Its simply Microsoft playing a card they know Sony has no answer to, the money card. Microsoft can afford to take the losses in order to gain market share, Sony cannot afford to reduce the price of ps4 in response. Sony admitted at launch if they went lower than $400 it would kill them.
Actually Xbox Ones online service is ran off
Azure servers while 360 is not, Xbox One is in fact more resistant to these kinds of attacks than Xbox 360s live and certainly PSN. The hackers themselves have said the reason they pick on Sony is because Sony skimps on network security, most likely due to a lack of funds. The hackers also claimed that XBL is more of a challenge to hack, so your statement that neither has an advantage over the other is simply not true.
Agreed they are so close in power that it comes down to software and dev tools. MS easily dominates in that area, and it should have been obvious this would ultimately be the case from the beginning given Microsofts software dominance last gen. The 360 was updated many times at the UI level and development level. Why did we think they wouldn't do the same with the XBO?
@livedeht that is untrue on almost every level. Xbox has easily the more advanced software/operating systems, and arguably the more advanced hardware with the hdmi throughput, wifi direct and Kinect. Not to mention its far quieter and cooler running.
Im with Bigpappy on this one. So far XBO has more "innovative games" than PS4 released, The UI is the same bland unimaginative mess from PS3, PS plus free games, the games have been bla so far and XBO has games with Gold free games, and indie titles are just being thrown at you because Sony can't afford real exclusives. I can play those indies on my Ipad, and most of them suck.
What he said, sadly Sony would never push for this.
As for the touch pad itself, it is a useless gimmick, and always has been. No body wanted to say so cuz its the PS4
Sony doesn't need a survey to tell them how to beat Microsoft, Sony learned a long time ago that all they have to do is copy Microsoft and they win by default since the gaming community is Sony biased. What Sony is doing here is creating a most likely rigged set of survey questions, that they will ask of a bunch of most likely PS fans. Then they will use the favorable results in an ad saying see, look everyone, gamers actually prefer PSN and plus, so there is no need for us to spend more ...
Said no one.
People ran out and bought Playstations because they hate Microsoft, if it was about the games people would have purchased the Xbox first and got a PS4 in 2015, everyone knows Sony takes a while to deliver. At the very least people should have held on to their PS3s until Sony got the games flowing on PS4. The only reason it is selling so well is out of spite for Microsoft, Sony has done very little to deserve such success. In a way Sony has Microsoft to thank for their PS4 success. Even Sony m...
Its not all good all the time, when the betas are buggy, it can cause really weird Xbox behavior until they fix it. But admittedly that is rare.
I think the incredible sales of the ps4 caught Sony off guard. They don't have the cash to build new data centers to support the load from all the new psn subscribers. Right now they have to choose between adding servers, financing exclusive content, and making payroll.
@Palitera Its not that they are lazy, its the fact that Sony is hemorrhaging cash right now. The gaming media is not reporting this for whatever reason, but Sony is spiraling out of control in financial losses. They are likely diverting cash from the successful divisions to keep the company afloat in other areas. Sony also knows they can get away with a lot of neglecting the gaming customers because when they screw them, gamers usually stumble over each other to defend Sony, instead of demand...
What also sucks is that people are thinking its a problem with their routers, or its only happening to them, because the media is so afraid to report anything negative on PS4.
This is really good news.
This ^
Your kidding right? Its the same on Xbox one. Select the game, manage, delete.
Ryse Is an Xbox exclusive, and was the most graphically impressive game at E3 last year, they had to find some reason to destroy the game. The qte in Ryse were optional, the outrage against them was phony.
@stolen soul
Ryse didn't have quick time events unless the player triggered them by choice, you could play right through the game without a single qte if you chose. Its funny how people ripped on the game and didn't even know what they were talking about.
I'm not sure they are trying to downplay the supposed graphical advantage of ps4, every comparison of gameplay I have seen has shown both consoles looking nearly identical graphics wise. On occasion the Xbox actually looks better.
And is it still true that the only AAA game this generation to run 1080p 60fps is on Xbox one?
